Verification with txt file

Last Updated: Jul 10, 2017 02:50PM CEST

Our most popular verification method allows you to verify ownership of your domain without having to make any changes to your website. Just add a file to the root of your server and you’re good to go!

1. Download the txt file

After entering the name of your domain, you will see a dialogue box with a verification file. Click on the file icon to download it.

2. Upload the file to the root of your website

Place the downloaded file in your website’s root directory and click “Verify.” Once your domain has been verified, you can remove the file from your website.

3. Start your first scan

You’re now all set and ready to run your first Detectify scan. Happy scanning!
