Verification with DNS (txt)

Last Updated: Jul 10, 2017 02:37PM CEST
Verification with DNS records allows for verification without changing the website - you simply verify by adding a txt record to the main domain.

1. Select “Other ways to verify your domain”

After entering the name of your domain, you will be prompted to verify it. The most commonly used verification method is verification with a txt. file, but you can see other options by clicking on “Other ways to verify your domain”

2. Select “DNS (txt)”

The onboarding wizard will present you with a list of verification options. To verify with DNS (txt), select the “DNS (txt)” option.

3. Add txt record

You will see a text beginning with “detectify-verification”. To verify your domain, copy the text and insert it as a txt record using DNS, then click “Verify”. Please note that it may take up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect.

4. Start your first scan

You’re now all set and ready to run your first Detectify scan. Happy scanning!
