When to use Basic Auth Login?
Basic auth is mainly used for a login form in a window.alert() and commonly used to protect whole systems, such as staging environments, from external access.
1. Navigate to Deep Scan Authentication
To authenticate Detectify with Basic auth, click on your domain on the Dashboard. In the sidebar, click on Deep Scan Authentication and select Edit.
2. Save credentials
Provide credentials for the Basic Auth Login and confirm by clicking on Save. Please make sure that you provision custom login credentials for Detectify: We will save these credentials to use for the login process, so we strongly discourage the use of any pre-existing accounts or accounts that are used by someone else since this will obstruct attempts to properly log access to your site.
Just reach out at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions regarding scanning behind login with basic auth.
