This is a Beta Feature and can be enabled in your Scan Settings -> Allow filling forms.
When crawling forms, Detectify will attempt to guess what type of value we should put into different fields based on hints we get for the autocomplete value and the type of input. Based on that, our crawler will fill in one of the following input values:
* By default, the first time a scan profile runs with this feature enabled, the password used will be random. Subsequent scans on the same profile will use the same password.
If we fail to guess what type of data we should fill in to a specific input, we’ll use the value from
the uncategorized section, which simply is “Detectify”.
The crawler supports text areas, radio buttons, checkboxes and drop-down menus.
If the crawler encounters a dropdown menu, it will find the value that was specified in the defaults.
For instance, if you have a drop-down where you need to choose a country, we will look for “Sweden“ as specified above in the section with our default values. Failing to find that value, the crawler will select the first option from the drop-down.
The above values can also be configured manually. If you require a specific value to be filled into your form input fields, reach out to support and we’d be happy to overwrite the default values for you.
In order to overwrite the default input values, please share with us the name of your scan profile and URL the form is on, the type of the value as well as the correct value you wish us to post in the form.
